The company, which already recycles or recovers more than 80% of the residual materials generated within its own operations, is thus taking another step towards its goal of decarbonization.

While the first contract targets the recovery of spent pot linings, the second is focused on the development of a new avenue for the treatment of surplus electrolytic bath (the solution in which the aluminum production reaction takes place). Once implemented, these technologies will contribute to strengthening the internal circular economy, which is already well established within the company's practices.

"We're delighted to be able to count on the collaboration and expertise of PyroGenesis to bring these two projects to reality. They enrich our decarbonization roadmap and are perfectly in line with our company's ESG (environmental, social and governance) vision," says Claude Gosselin, President and CEO of Aluminerie Alouette.

Both Aluminerie Alouette and CQRDA (Centre québécois de recherche et de développement de l'aluminium) are contributing financially in this project. This organization administers the funds and programs made available by the provincial government's minister de l'Économie, de l'Innovation et de l’Énergie for Quebec's aluminum industry.

With the completion of these projects, all process residues generated by operations will be recycled internally. Committed to decarbonization, Alouette has also recently initiated a number of initiatives, including the creation of an in-house scientific committee. The purpose of this committee is to explore all potential avenues and ensure synergy with the various external stakeholders. It is with pride and enthusiasm that the company's employees and partners invest in the production of ever greener aluminum.

http://www.alouette.com/en/media/news?id=2891

Wed, 31 Dec 1969 19:00:00 EST

http://www.alouette.com/en/media/news?id=2881

Wed, 31 Dec 1969 19:00:00 EST

http://www.alouette.com/en/media/news?id=2880

Wed, 31 Dec 1969 19:00:00 EST

http://www.alouette.com/en/media/news?id=2879

Wed, 31 Dec 1969 19:00:00 EST

http://www.alouette.com/en/media/news?id=2877

Wed, 31 Dec 1969 19:00:00 EST

COVID-19 - Vaccination hub Industrie Côte-Nord
